We wish life was all fluffy kittens and sequin rainbows but sometimes we have to get a little ‘legal beagle’ so here’s all the serious stuff.





+ We are a small wee store that hand picks products from talented artists, makers and dope designers so there may be the odd occasion when you buy something online and we may not have it in stock. In this instance we will email you as soon as possible to offer you the chance to place the item on backorder and we will ship the item to you at our cost when it comes back into stock. If that does not tickle your fancy, then we will certainly exchange the order or give you a full refund at the recommended retail price.
+ If you can for some reason you cannot use the online store please email us and we will be able to help you pay via direct debit, PayPal or credit card. There are many ways to peel a banana and to shear a cat – or is that peel a cat?




+ We are multi-task exceptionally well here at AFD HQ and we take all the product images here in-house. We make every effort to make sure that our photography truly reflects the product true-to-life but sometimes we may not get it perfect. As and when this happens we will try our best to make it clear in the product’s description. We love design as well as telling the truth. Girl guide swearsies.
+ Are you wanting press images of our products? No problemo our amigos, we are happy to help, just email us Same goes flamingos for products for photo shoots – just holler with what you need and we will send the items (if possible) out. They especially love being in hair and makeup being done.

+ Nothing from our website can be reproduced, copied or used in any form (print, online or in Homes n’ Stuff Weekly) without any prior approval from Alex Fulton Design Ltd (AFD). All content from AFD will need to be credited and linked where possible.

+ Sometimes our online product prices may vary from our in store prices.
+ Products on sale or marked down are not refundable (or come with our limited edition branded invisible ten piece dinner set).

+ We are a conscientious bunch that knows how exciting it is to receive goodies in the post so we aim to get all our AFD treats out to your before you can say “is beige even a colour?” so aim for local 3-5 days. This does not include any time for processing your order.

+ As freight is calculated on size and weight AFD Store may have to contact you and alter the shipping cost if your order is oversized or a crazy shape (lucky we have sold out of our life sized giraffe salt and pepper shakers)
+ We use Post Haste for all New Zealand deliveries. Sometimes we request a signature (preferably yours as Elvis and a smiley face may not cut the mustard). We also will need a physical address (no P.O.Box numbers sil vous plaits).

+ We are happy to ship overseas so please contact us directly to get a quote at

+ AFD Store takes no responsibility for attempted deliveries that are returned to the store and as much as we hate doing it, we will have to charge for redelivery.




+ While we are happy to exchange a gift we do not offer a refund if you change your mind.

+ Any returns or exchanges must be within 10 working days of receiving your order and are at the discretion of the AFD Store. Please email us Items should be returned to us in a good and resalable condition with the original product packing intact. All postage associated with exchanges are at the cost of the customer. We do not give cash refunds, but can happily issue a credit for approved exchanges or returns. (Sorry, we had to say that in our serious voice but don’t worry we were wearing those slinky googly eye glasses at the same time)

+ If you receive damaged or faulty goods please email as soon as poss because we will need to deal with this issue ASAP. We may need images of the faulty product, and we normally request that you send us back the product to we can run our peepers over the issue. If we then believe that the goods were no fault of the customer, we will replace or refund the cost of the item. If we do replace, AFD Store will cover the cost of re-shipping to you. We did try and get a ‘free puppy with damaged or faulty goods’ clause in here but some party pooper poo-pooed the idea.



Other stuff

+ We are not only great with all things design, we are also super listeners and anything you tell us will be kept private. Things like your personal details, email address and that confession about that time at primary school when you accidently ate your scented eraser because it smelt so good. All under our cute wee fedora's.
